Translation by Google: The way I see 'LUKAS' is much more than a vehicle for van Damme's show. It is a magnificent thriller with seventies influences that knows perfectly how to entertain and keep the viewer in tension from beginning to end; that gives it much more value than anything else.

www.moviereviewcrew.com/blog/review-the-bouncer-2019Review: The Bouncer (2019) Overall, The Bouncer will not go down as one of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s best movies, or even one of his most enjoyable. It is, however, a movie that shows a new side of Van Damme’s abilities, a worthy addition to his filmography, and one of his best acting performances of his career. If you’re a fan of his, you will be pleased with this one, so I would say you should definitely give it a watch. If you aren’t a Van Damme fan (or you are hesitant to believe me that he actually can act), I still urge you to give this a shot. At the very least, you’ll get to watch a well made, gritty thriller, and I have a feeling that you will come away with an appreciation for Van Damme’s efforts as a little bonus. If you do decide to watch it, I would love to hear your opinions on it, so hit up the comment section!
RATING: 6.5 out of 10

www.filmaffinity.com/es/film706143.html The average rating for Lukas on this Spanish site is 5.5/10 (333 people rated the movie) but some people rated it a 10/10.
John Conyor's rating: 10/10
Translation: I love that Van Damme still takes some of his projects seriously. An interesting and well made film, where if the plot does not bring anything new, if it leaves you stuck to the screen throughout the entire footage. You need more of this Van Damme and less mediocre movies or bland cameos like Kickboxing and your cousins. www.filmaffinity.com/es/user/rating/4962465/706143.html

movie-freak.be/2019/03/the-bouncer-2019/The Bouncer (2019) by admin · 4 March 2019 My rating 6/10 A gritty movie with no splits. “The Bouncer” is a straightforward film in which clichés aren’t avoided. Jean-Claude Van Damme shines in this film. He’s constantly in the picture and carries this movie effortlessly. No, don’t expect him to demonstrate that he’s a master in combat techniques. Lukas is a sturdy, tough guy who can throw punches and can take punches effortlessly, but he won’t do splits in this gritty film. The acting of the two criminals is also far from bad. Especially Sam Louwyck is pretty intimidating. The conversations between him and Lukas are extremely successful. Kevin Janssens’ hairstyle stands out most. Could you talk about a rebirth of Van Damme? Who knows. Maybe I should give “Black Water” a chance, even though I’m sure I’ll be disappointed.

MAAC Review: The Bouncer By David Vo - March 25, 2019 Plot: 4/5 Acting: 4/5 Action: 3.5/5 Overall: 3.8/5 With the release of The Bouncer Van Damme gives what is one of his finest performances to date, headlining an action thriller that is more in line with the films he collaborated on with Ringo Lam (1996’s Maximum Risk) than the likes of Bloodsport (1988).Read more here: www.maactioncinema.com/archives/10872

THE BOUNCER Review: Julien Leclerq’s Elevated Crime Noir Hits Hard And Pensive Lee B. Golden III by Lee B. Golden III — April 6, 2019 The first four minutes of The Bouncer is the calm quiet-before-the-storm leading to an artful, cinematic build-up to the rest. The score hands you some immersive crescendos at times, paired with several brilliant one-take shots between the action and drama – all amplified to some degree with an elevated touch to the project. While not the commercial, wall-to-wall action fanfare that some fanboys declare it should be, The Bouncer is a gripping, enhanced gangster noir proving itself every which way that it can hold its own.Read more here: filmcombatsyndicate.com/the-bouncer-review-julien-leclerqs-elevated-crime-noir-hits-hard-and-pensive/
