Translation: If this film is going to happen, there is a producer and a mandatory distributor behind it... because JC will not take the risk of shooting a movie and then wait for the offers from the studio... he did it with "Full Love" and now we do not know if it will see the light of day ... for "The Tower" it would be nice to make a last fight film and then go to drama or the other ... in any case, maybe it's going to be a concrete project because if it goes bad it will never be produced ... (The monk, Double impact 2, Kumite, Lionheart 2 ...)

If you want my honest opinion I don't like the supposed story involving Kris. I like him but he can't do a martial arts film as the lead without having particular skills, it would turn out as a semi-joke. Kris isn't the lead, JCVD is.
Hopefully but the story I remember had a big role for Kris, in fact he was even fully up on the Rodin poster.

JCVD is going to train with Claude Goetz and it will take 12 months (2x 6 months) to be in the shape of a figther.

Does this means JCVD won't film anything until October 2019 ? I can accept it because it would be a dream to see JC starring as the lead in a martial arts film again but I want the 100% certainty that this project will happen, so contracts signed and cast and director announcements as soon as possible. A full stop to prep for a "maybe project" is unacceptable for me.

Does this means JCVD won't film anything until October 2019? With so many potential projects, I doubt he won't film anything for a whole year.

www.imdb.com/title/tt3827668/Do you think this project has anything to do with the JCVD The Tower project ? It looks like a good project with a budget of 15 million and Stephen Lang in the cast.

Hmmm .. doubt it. Seems like another project. Funny that the plot seems so similar.

Funny that the plot seems so similar. Not really, only thing the movies have in common is the name and the memory loss.
An ensemble of elite fighters wake up behind bars and struggle to regain their memories, but they soon realize that they are a part of a dark, government experiment - and must fight their way out of a Tower maze to survive.

Anyway I know it's difficult these days for JC to get that money but 15 million budget seems about right to me for his last martial arts film as the lead. Bloodsport had a tiny budget but 1 million dollars in the 80s would be around 10 million dollars of today, especially regarding money for visual locations like Hong Kong.

Do you think that the movie project Karate (2009) was the first version of what became the script for The Tower? Both stories involve cage fights in Las Vegas.

The new film from Jean Claude Van Damme’s Rodin Entertainment

Rodin Entertainment, a new company run by Jean Claude Van Damme, has just emailed over the poster for the upcoming VD flick “Karate”. Can only assume the poster was plastered on the walls of the croissant stops cross Cannes last week. And it’s not bad, so I imagine the film sold (since nobody cares what a film’s actually like, so long as the poster’s pretty and U2 have agreed to lend their music to the film’s trailer).
If my deteriorating memory serves me right, the film was previously titled “The Pit Bull”. Like this title better. Says it all. A little like “Kickboxer” – still considered one of JCVD’s best movies – which can’t hurt either.
I’m just gonna take a punt and guess that this new one involves someone’s head coming to blows with the former Time Cop’s crimson-coloured knuckles.
The official site for the film actually has a more precise synopsis up.
