Martial arts classic, the worldwide success made the film a cult in the martial arts world and generated several sequels, 4 sequels in the 90s and a recent trilogy reboot starring JCVD again.

I love the soundtrack of this movie. I don't understand why today's films use so little 80s music, I heard even 70s music but not much of this sperimental gold music. Bruno Mars made his success copying that style and still works.

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma explains how he was named after actor Jean-Claude Van Damme Vaishali Bhardwaj
February 8, 2017 www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-defender-kurt-zouma-explains-how-he-was-named-after-actor-jeanclaude-van-damme-a3461526.html
In an interview with The Mirror, the defender explained how his father gave him his unusual middle name while revealing his first name was inspired by the 1989 Hollywood movie Kickboxer, in which Jean-Claude Van Damme plays the character 'Kurt Sloane'.
"Yeah, it’s true," Zouma said when asked if he middle name is indeed 'Happy'. "It was my father.
"When my mother was pregnant, my father was watching a Van Damme movie. He was killing everybody and fighting everyone.
"And my father said, ‘Yeah, this one we’re going to call him Kurt because he’s going to be strong and Happy because he’s going to laugh every time.’
"Now when I see them I say, ‘Daddy, I respect you. Every time I laugh and I’m big and strong. Thank you, Dad.’

HONOLULU -
Former kickboxing champion Dennis Alexio was sentenced on Thursday to 15 years in prison following convictions in two trials last year.
On Jan. 20, 2016, a federal grand jury found Alexio, 58, guilty on all counts of defrauding the IRS of more than $700,000 in illegally obtained tax refunds.
On Sept. 16, 2016, another federal grand jury found Alexio guilty on all 18 counts of an indictment charging him with using false and fictitious financial instruments to obtain property from multiple unsuspecting victims.
In the first trial, evidence showed that Alexio stole more than $700,000 from the IRS by preparing and filing tax returns for others which falsely claimed tax refunds in those amounts. Alexio then used cashier's checks to try and launder the money and hide it from the government. The government was able to recover most of the money.
In the second trial, evidence was produced that showed Alexio obtained $185,000 of silver coins and gold bars by fraud and theft from APMEX, an internet metals company based in Oklahoma City. Court documents also show Alexio's theft of about $16,000 in currency from Dartmouth Capital, an internet currence exchange company based in Boston.
Alexio is a former world kickboxing champion and was known in the ring as "The Terminator." He also starred in the movie "Kickboxer" with Jean Claude Van Damme.

Italian distribution strikes again and this time it happened to "Kickboxer". On the first day of release I bought the new blu-ray + dvd "Il collezionista" version of Kickboxer with a cool cover with JCVD and.... I found the blu-ray + dvd of "Kickboxer Vengeance" inside! Congratulations !!! Does it say Alain Moussi somewhere? If not, I would write a complaint to the distributor for false advertising and ask for a refund.

It is useless to write to the distributor, they will tell you that it happened to a few copies and that the others are right because they don't want to spend money on reprint and admit the mistake. I might get a refund from Amazon but I don't want to spend money on sending the copy back to get back little money. The good news is that I now have 4 copies of "Kickboxer Vengeance", the same as "Kickboxer" haha! This is the cover....

Very strange.......
