Urban film and last collaboration between JC and Sheldon Lettich. It got mixed reception because the film mix action with a black underground story. JC did a good job and Vivica A. Fox really shine as a co-star. Overall the action worth the watch.

I re-watched the movie yesterday.
I can describe this movie in one word: Awkward
This feels like someone decided to last minute add Jean-Claude Van Damme to a gangster movie. It's not a bad movie, but it doesn't feel like a Van Damme movie.
The use of uzis by the bodyguards at the nightclub was just weird. I mean a hand gun would be a lot more suited.
I liked the guy who played the boxer but there was something off about the gangster, he didn't seem to have a 'gangster' face.
At one point one of the bad guys gets murdered for not having done his job. I think his partners in crime could have been more shocked about what happens to his body, some bad acting going on there.
The story was OK and I liked the jokes. All in all still an entertaining movie. 7/10

I think the hard corpse has so many faults in may ways. I think it cud have been a lot better. One of the most cringe worthy moments was wen they dressed in camo gear at the end wen a simple black clothing to blend in with the night wud of suited the moment more.And the character development, most characters u didnt care about and lacked personality. Lack of depth in the story. Why wud u hire a gang of street martial artist as bodyguards istead of highly trained ex soldiers or marksmen. Vivica and jc where like chalk and cheese had completely no chemistry. Sorry but this movie just wasnt thought through. Why not of just had jc as a one man wrecking machine of a bodyguard hellbent with ptsd. Im sure the concept was there just didnt execute it correctly
