My favourite JCVD's DTV action film! a real gem! I love the dark atmosphere and the awesome action. Amazing cast and music. Simon Yam played a fantastic villain. I waited years to see something similar to this and maybe "Lukas" will have a similar vibe, hopefully.
Unfortunately there exist two versions of it, an uncut with torture and bloody violence and a soft cut version, be sure to watch the uncut version, I have both because the Italian blu-ray has the cut version and the old 2005 dvd the uncut version.

This uncut version is still not available in blu-ray in Italy. We got the cut version in 2012 for the blu-ray and to watch the uncut version you have to buy the old 2005 DVD. I have three copies of "Wake of Death", two uncut version DVDs and one cut version Blu-ray. I prefer the uncut version.

This movie is very different from his other movies, it has no humor in it al all. It's dark from beginning till end, except for a few tender moments with is wife and the kids. I hadn't seen this movie since August 2014, so I felt it was time to re-watch it.
I don't like the flash forwards, but I knew they were a part of this movie, so they didn't bother me that much anymore.
I was surprised that I enjoyed the movie a lot more than the last time I watched it. It's still one of my least favorite Van Damme movies, but it's actually a pretty good movie.
My rating went up from a 6/10 in 2014 to at least a 6.5/10, maybe 7-.

Again I have seen this .I watched this last night . Tet i have forgotten it until i actually watched it , we had video ezy back in the day in Australia ,so i mustve hired a copy , I loved the movie , I relate to this seeing a little boy have his mother taken away from him for no reason . heart breaking , my score 8/10 only because he was in the shower  |

I bought a new Italian uncut dvd copy yesterday in a shop with used stuff. I just spent 2.75 euro for it and it's my 4 copy of the film. I'm very happy! it is definitely one of my favorite films.

See we dont have any of that rare ones here in Newcastle NSW , unless i find an import shop in Sydney which im going to have to twist my friends arm and take a trip to Sydney , I know there are import shops around Sydney area  Day trip i think |
