Incredible 90s Photos of Action Star Jean Claude Van Damme Nat Berman February 2, 2017
I happen to be a huge Jean Claude Van Damme fan. Next to guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, there weren’t any better action stars than these guys from about 1986 to 1999. Bloodsport and Kickboxer alone solidify Van Damme’s legacy as being one of the most well known martial arts actors but people seem to forget that he starred in dozens of films in his day. Some of my personal favorites were Double Impact, Death Warrant, Lionheart. Even later on I though The Quest was pretty decent.
However, if there’s one thing you can’t deny about Jean Claude Van Damme, it’s that his image and style back then are so unintentionally funny that it’s still talked about to this day. From his signature split to always having his shirt off, the amount of hilarious poses JCVD voluntarily or involuntarily was involved in are endless.
Still though, you can’t deny that this guy was and is a total stud. He did all his own stunts. He choreographed the fighting scenes in nearly every movie he was in. He had a hand in production, writing, you name it. While it’s easy to poke fun at a certain image, you have to respect the work this guy put in to be the man he is. It’s why he’s still talked about today and probably will be for decades.
And in honor of the legendary Jean Claude Van Damme, we just had to share some of his cheesier but awesome pics from the 90s:www.tvovermind.com/entertainment-news/incredible-90s-photos-action-star-jean-claude-van-damme

I think for a lot of people it's out of sight out of mind. That's why the Jean-Claude Van Johnson series is so important, it will bring him in the public eye again and I'm sure he will get more fans because of it. But let us not forget that he I already has a large fan-base.

Yeah 100% agree ! Even if today , people following Diesel ( that I like a lot ) or Johnson ( like him too ) everybody knows who is Jean-Calude Van Damme the actor and , he is always here whatever he's doing , everybody heard and hear about what he is doing now and the fact that he is more in L.A help a lot actually... JCVJ is a great great great project and the concept is really cool not to mention that sir Ridley is behind all of it ! Correct me if I'm wrong but for me , Arnold and Sly don't have this kind of directors/producers behind there projects today.
