'One Mississippi,' 'I Love Dick,' 'Jean-Claude Van Johnson' Canceled at Amazonwww.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/one-mississippi-i-love-dick-jean-claude-van-johnson-canceled-at-amazon-1075507Jean-Claude Van Johnson, marking the series-regular debut of Jean-Claude Van Damme, ran for one season and starred the big-screen actor as a version of himself — a famous actor and martial-arts pro who comes out of retirement to resume his alter-ego: an undercover private contractor by the name of Jean-Claude Van Johnson. Van Damme starred and exec produced alongside The Expendables' Dave Callaham. The comedy hailed from Scott Free Television's Ridley Scott and David Zucker. Jean-Claude Van Johnson launched in December to poor reviews, with The Hollywood Reporter's Daniel Fienberg calling it a "great idea, great pilot [and] disappointing series."

I still have to write my review of the series, but I did give my opinion on the separate episodes and some of it was brilliant and some of it was not my cup of tea, so I'm OK with it being canceled. I don't like sequels anyway so don't mind at all. It is what it is and it is very loved among fans, just look at all the tweets that were posted on the forum. Just 3 people tweeted that they didn't like it.
JCVD got back in the public eye, fans got what they wanted. I don't know if amazon made enough money, let's hope they did.

It's nothing personal against the series but the people who picked the series where replaced and the new people want to target a big audience. All three comedies had been picked up under ousted executives Roy Price and Joe Lewis.
after Roy Price and his top lieutenant Joe Lewis were ousted amid sexual harassment and conflict of interest allegations, respectively. In the interim, Amazon Studios chief operating officer Albert Cheng has taken over for Price, while Sharon Tal Yguado has been overseeing scripted originals after being hired to focus on genre programming. www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/one-mississippi-i-love-dick-jean-claude-van-johnson-canceled-at-amazon-1075507

I prefer to not comment this "news". I'm still really upset and feel betrayed.

JC should try to turn the series into a film franchise with Peter Atencio directing. Everyone that has watched the series liked the characters so there's a good basis to make a film out of this in the vein of "Timecop". There would be huge interest in audience after a so good reception. I want to see Philip again so bad :-(

I would like to read JC's opinion about what happened to the show. I wonder if JC has a contract with Amazon studios and if there are chances for JC to work on another project.
