I like the plot. Hopefully this is indeed a JCVD-lead movie. Also, from the director of Dolph's RIOT. I really really liked that movie.

Actually, that's kind of realistic. I mean, if they're indeed buried alive, they have little oxygen left.
Overall, I expected some Kickboxer 3 news and was kind of hoping about KEA 2. But oh well, that will do for now, I guess.

I meant that it's unrealistic to pull this assignment off within 5 hours. Carl Rizk is retired, so he isn't on top off his game, but they expect him to take out three distinct groups of highly-skilled criminals and kill each one of them on his own within 5 hours. Unless Carl retired just a few days ago, this sounds unrealistic to me.
Carl Rizk, an ex-covert operative who’s moved to a small quiet town in Oregon to raise his son and daughter gets awakened by a phone call and message from a modulated voice telling him that both his children have been kidnapped and buried alive with just enough air to survive for the next 5 hours. In order to ever see his children alive again RIZK has to take on three distinct groups of highly-skilled criminals and kill each and every one of them. But he has to work alone and face increasing obstacles and levels of weaponry to uncover the identity of the man behind the macabre plot. The clock is ticking and RIZK can’t waste any time or make any mistakes or he will lose his family forever.

Sounds like a solid R-rated production but it's too early to have an opinion, the director's choice isn't exciting.

Right now I think this is just a we have Van Damme in mind for the lead role, I wouldn't be surprised if JCVD hasn't received the official offer yet. www.vmiworldwide.com/index.php/production/
VMI's business is rooted strongly in the development and production of high-profile, cast-driven content with strong commercial value in the international independent marketplace. Also, Kris is now attached as an "executive producer". I guess he will be in it. And if he is in the movie, so is JCVD. Ahh, I so wish Bianca to be back in some JCVD movies.

September 27, 2017 by Eoin Friel How have I never heard of this movie? While scouring the VMI website earlier I apparently stumbled across details on a new Jean-Claude Van Damme movie called Rizk to be directed by John Lyde.
SYNOPSIS: Carl Rizk, an ex-covert operative who’s moved to a small quiet town in Oregon to raise his son and daughter gets awakened by a phone call and message from a modulated voice telling him that both his children have been kidnapped and buried alive with just enough air to survive for the next 5 hours.
Sounds interesting; has to be better than Kill ‘Em All…theactionelite.com/2017/09/jcvd-in-rizk/

So it's a cancelled project or just postponed ? Maybe it's in very early process and no name is attached for now. Imdb page just list director and writer.
