Jean-Claude Van Johnson – Pilot By Robert Andrews| January 23rd, 2017 4 out of 5 stars With additional episodes coming to Amazon (this being an Amazon exclusive) at a later date, after proving extremely popular with viewers, the concept of Jean-Claude Van Johnson is one which has a lot of potential, so much so, that I can already see it spawning multiple series in the future. The tone of the series encourages laid back chilled viewing, as it’s not a series which takes itself at all that seriously. The self-deprecating humour is very enjoyable, and the series’ story is brilliantly ridiculous. It seems that JCVD has a lot more left to offer viewers with this series, as opposed to the occasional and dreadful straight to DVD action flicks we mostly tend to see him feature in nowadays.Read more here: nobullreviews.co.uk/jean-claude-van-johnson-pilot/

My own review:
I watched the pilot 3 times. 8/10
The morning routine and the factory scene are my favorites.
I thought the scene in the Huck trailer was boring, Luis was rambling and I was hoping things would get better and they did. The scene in the factory is awesome. I do think they overdid the Hi/Hello Philippe thing, I would have preferred one or two greetings.
Philippe was portrayed creepily good.
Even though I love Kat as Vanessa I do think that JC looks too old for her. They should have picked an older Vanessa or they need to put more makeup on JC's face to make him look younger.
I think the ending was clever because we can't accept this sad ending for Johnson.
Needless to say I hope JCVJ goes to series.

Amazon Original starring none other then JCVD himself!!!
Holy Crap! How did I not know about this show!!! If you grew up watching and loving Jean-Claude Van Damme movies like I did then you NEED to see this show!!!
The concept of this show is absolutely ridiculous and perfect at the same time. It turns out that the entire time JCVD, as he refers to himself has been a Black Ops agent and used the movie star persona as his cover.
So while he was being the worlds greatest 80's action star, John Deux, he was also saving the world from terrorists as Jen-Claude Van Johnson!! Freaking amazing right!!!
This show picks up two years after JCVD has retired from Black Ops and is absolutley miserable in his life. The majority of this show literally makes fun of him, his movies and the 80's in general. At one point he says, "No one is going to die. Except for all the people I'm going to kill." Its amazing.
Well he runs into an old flame (Kat Foster) that he was involved with on the job at a restaurant called Dri Ramen. I place that serves Ramen noodles with no water, honestly hysterical. The show is full of these stupid, over the top obvious jokes and it works. Anyway, he and out of retirement in order to rekindle things with her and he is in way over his head!
Like I said, if you have a love for stupid 80's martial arts movies and you can appreciate people making fun of it then you really need to watch this show. There is only one episode currently on Amazon so hopefully people like it and they make more. Enjoy and i'd love to hear your reactions.

Amazon’s Upcoming Series: The Tick, I Love Dick, Last Tycoon, and Jean Claude Van Johnson By Alabama Liberal | March 30, 2017 alabamaliberal.com/amazons-upcoming-series-the-tick-i-love-dick-last-tycoon-and-jean-claude-van-johnson/Jean Claude Van Johnson…A solid pilot that may or may not work stretched into a full-length series. It seems a little one-joke—Jean Claude Van Damme the actor uses terrible movies as fronts for high-end assassin or detective work—but the jabs against Hollywood (at one point he’s pitched an action-fantasy version of “P.F. Chang’s the movie”) are hilarious, and Van Damme is the one 80’s relic that actually could make a real comeback. And since he’s from Belgium, he’ll never be able to run for President, so we don’t have to worry about rooting for him. Grade: B+
