Complicated film, it has been judged more for the theatrical numbers than the effective quality of the film. Back in the 90s people didn't get the humor and comedy of it but in recent years it got a surprising cult status. Personally I like it a lot, especially the colony parts but also the action is really good in my opinion.

When I first watched this movie it was a 10/10 for me, I still like it a lot but now it's a 9/10 maximum. I love the colony parts too and I'm curious what it would have been like if they hadn't changed the script. The Original title was The Colony, so a lot more focus on the colony part I guess.

The change of the script was because of Dennis Rodman. Imagine the movie without him. That's the part that i don't like about this movie. Before they went to Italy, i like it a lot. After that was a crap for me!

Double team is a really fun movie and one of Mickley rourks finest roles. I sometimes wounder Wat could of been made if it was entirely concentrated on the colony with a more serious tone, but I guess we all daydream of how a movie can turn out if it's gone in a different direction. I'm glad they made it fun and enjoyable though.
