Howdy folks, just signed up today and wanted to introduce myself (I apologize if there is a welcome thread, and I missed it... if so you can move this)
I am 33 years of age, and have been a Van Damme fan since I was 10 years old.... I still watch his movies daily (even my wife finds his movies entertaining) My faves include (I am sure most will agree)
Bloodsport
Kickboxer
Double Impact
Universal Soldier
Sudden Death
Pound of Flesh (for his new direct to video stuff)
I look forward to TLM, the commercial looks extremely well done!
Anyway, hope to chat with some of you folks around here. Seems like a cool forum!

No, there is no "welcome thread".
Thank you very much! We are always happy to have new people on board. Feel free to post and create threads. If there already is a thread of the same topic it can always be merged together (so you don't have to go through all the threads to see if one already exists or use the Search option).
It's cool that you can do the splits like JCVD!

Welcome man! I too am a boy born in the 80's who grew up with Van Damme movies, I think we are now the majority of the JCVD fanbase, I remember a JCVD interview in 2011 where he said that most of his fans had his age and they had grown old together, I don't know where that fanbase is now because I always meet guys like me, you or Scott Adkins who were kids in the 90's, I think it's good news, JC's legacy will last longer.

Absolutely agreed!!! It's a shame a lot of the martial arts movies are dying out..... Don't get me wrong, I love Liam Neeson movies and Keanu Reeves (John Wick) movies, but I wish some Van Damme movies would go to theatres.... I will take a Scott Adkins, Van Damme style movie any day over those. I love the high kick martial arts style movies!

Yeah, but something is moving, this year the new Mortal Kombat was partially released in theaters worldwide, I haven't seen it yet but I will do it next month when it's out on blu-ray in my country. I still have some hope that JCVD can play Johnny Cage in the sequel. |
