*The first cut of Frenchy was filmed in Thailand in the summer of 2008 on a budget of $5 million. After unsuccessful special screening in Cannes, organized in 2010 in order to find a distributor for a potential theatrical release, additional footage was shot in 2012 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

JCVD screened the movie in Cannes in 2010 and in China in 2014. We know nothing about how the 2014 version was received in China, but the 2010 version (which was a Romantic Drama) didn't get a good reception, because people didn't understand the vision of JCVD. That's why he decided to make the movie more appealing by adding more action scenes.
In 2014 he was trying to get a distribution deal in China, but that didn't happen.
December 20 2018 JCVD worked on Full Love for 3 weeks straight and finished it. The music and songs were added by his son Kristopher in LA.
June 2020 JCVD says he received phone calls from studios who want to see Frenchy. He does not want a theatrical release anymore. He wants to release it on a platform like Netfix, Canal+ or Disney. "You can stay home and enjoy Frenchy."
