It's my birthday on Sunday, and my best friend and sister have looked through the Van Damme catalogue to see what they wouldn't find too disturbing, action wise. We're going to watch something on Saturday night, and I must choose. Of course, I'd possibly want it to be something I haven't seen before, although I personally love In Hell and Nowhere To Run.
Anyway, they've suggested Pound Of Flesh, Black Water and Lukas. Of those I'd only heard of Pound Of Flesh, but I am not intrigued by the write-up... so... Black Water, or Lukas? Which is better? And why?

Hi Robyn. "Lukas" is the best film among these three, I don't know anyone who didn't like it and it's critically acclaimed but don't expect much action, it's mostly great acting and visuals and has an European atmosphere. "Black Water" is a good film in my opinion but I read some negative opinions about the acting and the low playing time of Dolph Lundgren, it is sold as a JC/Dolph buddy film but it's more a JC leading film with a rather small screen presence for Lundgren. It is an American old school action film with excellent cinematography. None of these 3 films is disturbing.

Haha I make my family watch Van Damme movies on my Birthday too (they don't like action movies). I always pick something I think they will enjoy too. I haven't seen Lukas, but my sister absolutely loves Nowhere To Run. I LOVE in Hell but it would be too much for my family. I haven't seen Lukas, but it's more of a drama like Pound Of Flesh. I love Black Water, so out of those three opions I would pick that one. I think the safest bet for a good time for all would be Nowhere To Run though.

I would have also gone Nowhere To Run but there are so many movies I haven't seen that I let them choose options. I normally suggest watching Abigail Breslin, but we already watch that on her birthday and most times on mine, so...

Happy Birthday! Did you and your guests enjoy the movie? My sister liked it which was all that counted really. It was all about finding something that wasn't too.. blood and guts went flying and Postman Pat was crying
