2 words, Roland Emmerich. A 10/10 legendary action film that created an iconic franchise. The film contributed to aware the people about government programs on regenerated soldiers. Luc Deveraux is probably the more famous character played by JCVD. JC vs Dolph is a must see for all fans.

Agree universal soldier was definitely a pinnacle in jcs career. The fight between jc and dolph is one of the best for sure I am sure that without Universal Soldier we wouldn't get Hard Target and Timecop, this film just proved to producers that he could work with A-list directors and bigger budgets, definitely a blessing film for JCVD.

This is a concept cover for an idea I have for a sequel to this cult franchise.
In US: Regeneration, we see "Luc Deveraux" in a mental state. The reason is not really explained. But Luc runs away after doing the dirty work for the Government.
In US: Day Of Reckoning, The luc we saw in "Regeneration" has put together a rogue unit of fresh Uni-Sols. Using mind manipulation, the Government have a Uni-Sol of their own, "John", which they have implanted fake memories of his family being killed by Deveraux. This leads to John hunting Luc down and eventually facing off. John beats Luc and inherits the rogue Uni-Sol unit.
For my idea for this sequel; We go back in time to when the destruction of a building, lead to the demise of the Government funded Uni-Sol project and the demise of S.E.T.H. Salvage teams were sent in to retrieve the S.E.T.H. cube unit and flesh/DNA samples of the cube's host. A shadow Government want to revive the old project and S.E.T.H. is the key as well as the genetically enhanced body that host the cube. It's the only way to take down their dirty little secret; John and the rogue Uni-Sol unit.
Also...
The luc Deveraux in the last two movies, was not the real Luc Deveraux. He was a clone that mentally found it hard to cope with the memories of the real Luc's past. No matter how much they tried to wipe his memory, they simply couldn't stop it from happening. But as for the real Luc? Still haunted by the events that occurred all them years ago, Luc still has nightmares. Somehow, he is still kind of connected with what happened to him when he first became a Uni-Sol. It will always be part of him. His daughter, Hilary, is a hard worker and does whatever it take to help her father.
In short. And I mean cutting out the details and juicy parts... All 3 protagonists are lead into a 3 way stand off. 3 generations of Uni-Sol. 1 big fight to end all big fights.
I am a fan of the Universal Soldier movies and would like to see a return to grace for the franchise. What better start than to have the 3 guys that totally kick ass, in 1 movie.
Hope you like the idea!

It was on TV yesterday. I still love it as much as the first time I watched. 9/10 The UniSol truck still looks impressive in 2020.

Awesome movie that doesn't seem dated except for the cars and TV. LOL The story might not be interesting for everyone but I loved it. Dolph did a great job too. Favorite joke: "I'm all ears"
