Looks good. It seems to have good directing and a relevant role for JC, he looks badass and hopefully there will be some long good war scenes. On the other side it seems to be structured as a gang film similar to "The Hard Corps" and I don't like very much that genre because it's usually filled with over the top bad acting. We'll see, I don't think it will be a great film but I might be positively surprised.

Dunno why, but I felt that this trailer was weirdly edited.
Also, JCVD's character has lost his ability to talk due to the war explotion at the beginning of the trailer. Similar to how The Rock lost his leg in the opening of SKYSCRAPER.

Are we sure JC can't speak ? The plot just say that he suffers of PTSD which means stress post traumatic, it's a mental disorder and not a physical one. So probably he will not speak most of the time but maybe he will when he will find his redemption by helping the boys and will say something in the final part of the film.

The film is confirmed to be R-rated, so we should get a good amount of action scenes, good news! I guess we will get more gun violence than fighting, the trailer shows one hand to hand JC fight scene, hopefully there will be more.

I agree.
My reaction after watching it for the first time:
JCVD looks good in the army scenes. The vibe of the movie seems less dark than I expected. Why don't they show parts of the movie where JCVD is talking? The trailer looks a bit messy. JCVD is going to kick ass!

That's what I was thinking too, maybe he just gave up on speaking and will be able to speak again, but maybe he won't because he has some tube thing in his throat that might have caused permanent damage.

My guess is that JC is not the lead but the older boy is, so most acting scenes will have the boys and the leader of the gang involved, JC play the savior of the situation, meeting the boys in fast scenes, then the big trouble happens and JC will use its army skills to get rid of the gang. A lead role without being the lead.

We knew JCVD didn't have the lead role, I think JCVD maybe has the 3rd biggest role if we are lucky the 2nd. Lucas has the lead role and Miguel or the gang-lord mentor, Rincon will have a big role too. So maybe a shared 2nd biggest role for Daniel/Miguel/Rincon. The story takes place in the slums of Washington DC, a world ruled by violent gangs and ruthless drug dealers. We get to see what happens to the characters over the course of 24 hours. Lucas, a 14-year-old Hispanic boy, inducted since age 10 into the brutal gang life of a San Salvadorean neighborhood in Washington D.C., is determined that his 10-year-old brother Miguel won't follow the same path. When ruthless drug lord Rincon and his MS-13 gang recruit 10-year-old Miguel to work as a runner, big brother Lucas is desperate to keep Miguel safe. When Daniel (an Afghanistan war veteran with PTSD) comes into the neighborhood looking for drugs to escape his own reality, an unusual opportunity arises that can change their lives forever. With the help of Daniel, Lucas tries to flee his gang-lord mentor, Rincon. Finally, on the wedding day of Rincon's sister.Read more: jcvdfans.boards.net/thread/387/die-young-movie-information#ixzz5dLhi4TVs

Yes but what I want to say is that I think JC will have a direct to action role with very few place for acting. Basically just the opening war scenes and the ending killing gang scenes, these parts will take most of JC's screen time to me, so I think we won't be annoyed by this lack of dialogues from JCVD because there won't be many scenes where he should speak.
