There are people who say that after the movie Whats my name, Dam ends your career, I hope it won't be like that, does anyone know anything concrete? I hope that the film will finally be released I think JCVD meant in that last interview that What's My Name is the last movie in which he will do all (or most of) his iconic Karate moves. After this one he will do movies that don't require a lot of training like Three Coyotes. He has mentioned before that The Tower (now "What's My Name") would be his last martial arts movie not his last movie ever. He might have changed his mind but a couple of years ago he was still making plans to do movies in Australia. jcvdfans.boards.net/thread/824/coyotes

screenrant.com/whats-name-jean-claude-van-damme-predator-fight-retirement/Van Damme Should Fight His Unused Version Of Predator In His Final Action Film BY PADRAIG COTTER Jean-Claude Van Damme is set to close out his action movie career with What's My Name?, and if that's the case, he should face off with his unused version of the Predator.
Of course, that depends on the tone What's My Name? will be taking, and whether such a fight scene would even fit. Jean-Claude Van Damme previously played himself in 2008 action-drama JCVD and then again in Amazon's short-lived Jean-Claude Van Johnson, which ended on a cliffhanger. Both projects played the drama side of things relatively straight, though they had moments of goofy humor too. Assuming What's My Name? has a similar tone, it shouldn't be too hard to sneak in a dream scene or daydream where JCVD fights an alien, and it would bring the star back to his career roots.

Great news, I hope there will be all the important actors from Lionheart, Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Universal Soldier, Quest .. I just hope this isn't Van Dam's last film. Same..... I have such mixed emotions on this, the movie itself sounds fantastic, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't crushed hearing this could be his last ever movie. I know he is getting up there in age, but guys like Liam Neeson are still going strong. Still thought Van Damme would give us another 10 years of movies..... but maybe he has had enough.... Sad.

I feel a little bit the same, I hope I don't get to a point where I don't care to see this last movie, honestly I'm not a big fan of big goodbyes, I find them a little pointless but I understand JC who would like to greet everyone with a memorable film. Anyway, am I wrong or did JC not share the news on his official pages ? maybe he's not even sure if the film will happen, let alone retire from acting.

I didn't see anything about him posting, just on other sties that I am not sure are fully trustworthy..... I guess we will see... I thought van Damme would go at least another 10 years or so, the guy is in such great shape. Maybe he just wants to spend time with family though, who knows.

I'm really looking forward to this and don't mind if it's his final film (although It most likely won't since there's still Frenchy, he'll probably continue doing smaller roles and commercials) and if this is his last film he's ending his career on a high note imho. The concept is great, but I sincerely hope they will have a decent budget and are able to get plenty of returning characters. Great news, I hope there will be all the important actors from Lionheart, Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Universal Soldier, Quest .. I just hope this isn't Van Dam's last film. Same..... Liam Neeson is actually older than Van Damme, but Van Damme's action is more intensive (if that makes sense) and Liam makes significantly more money. Liam has said wanting to stop with action movies for a while now, but he had signed onto quite a lot that he's still making them I didn't see anything about him posting, just on other sties that I am not sure are fully trustworthy..... Plenty of trustworthy sites have posted about it. A little weird that Van Damme himself hasn't commented, but that might be a good thing, meaning he's actually working on it?

Oh yes I know Liam is older than Van Damme. That’s my point. He’s still going and he’s almost 70. Van Damme is in far better shape so I’m surprised he would call it quits already. You’re right that Liams action is much different than Van Damme, but he still does most of the fight scenes himself he has said. I don’t fault Van Damme at all for wanting to retire, I’m just surprised is all

Oh well, if this is the case I will just have to watch his old stuff all the time hahaha. And Last Mercenary was still good. He has left us with some great memories whatever the case may be.

According to IMDb, the project is still in development, we learned the announcement as if it were official but I think there are still some variables, we will be sure by the summer if it really happens, in the meantime JC could play a supporting role in the latest Kickboxer by Alain Moussi which is expected to go into production shortly.

We don't even know when they will start making this movie. All we know is that JCVD is training for it.
