It’s a shame they didn’t do jcvd behind closed doors while this film was being made, more of an insight for us fans.

It’s a shame they didn’t do jcvd behind closed doors while this film was being made, more of an insight for us fans. We already have a lot of videos and remember that the film went though some changes, so if we knew the original version (if is was in Behind Closed Doors) the version of today would be different. jcvdfans.boards.net/thread/140/eagle-path-full-love-videos

UPDATED: FRENCHY FINALLY RELEASED THIS YEAR?
UPDATED: Will this movie finally be released this year, over a decade on? Here is what Jean Claude Van Damme’s co-star Josef Canon tells Viking Samurai:
I’ve spoken to him and the film will be out this year. There are some projects you must wait for the right moment for it may be ahead of it’s time. FRENCHY is such a film!!

Do you guys think it would be better to release Frenchy before or after What's My Name? I thought he would have released it after Jean-Claude Van Johnson or The Last Mercenary, but he didn't. If he doesn't release it before at least we have something to look forward to after What's My Name, but you don't want to lose momentum.

I opened this thread in 2017 and 5 years later we are still wondering when it will be released. The most likely answer is never, no release at all but you never know, miracles do happen sometimes.

I'm guessing Van Damme is looking for a deal where he gets a decent amount of the investment back (since he funded a lot of the movie, and it has gone through 3 versions already) and a theatrical/wider release because there's a message in it, he wants to send to everyone (at least the first cut did since he talked about this specifically a few times in Behind Closed Doors). Although it's been a while since I've seen the trailer(s) I do remember them all looking quite rough around the edges (some reviews that have come out confirmed that as well), the film is more focussed on a message instead of the action material Van Damme is usually known for, and it's way over a decade old now. Taking all this in consideration, it just doesn't seem like a good deal/investment for possible buyers on film markets, which is probably while it still hasn't been picked up...
I know I'm coming off rather negative, but I still really would like to see this film and especially all versions (although I doubt that will ever happen).
